How people play in Tulum
Tulum runs on organic sound, downtempo and melodic techno. We work that language from the first class: track selection, slow energy building and the long transitions that are the norm here rather than the exception.
What the course includes
Level-based program
Beginner, intermediate and set-building. Each level is 8 two-hour sessions with open practice time included.
Mentors from the scene
Our instructors play beach clubs and private parties here every week. You learn how the work really happens on this coast.
Filmed closing set
We close the course with a sunset session shot by our video team. You walk away with a clip ready to promote.
DJ Classes in Tulum
Our DJ classes in Tulum run from our booth in La Veleta, ten minutes from the centre, in groups of no more than four. Every session is hands-on time on CDJ-3000s and a DJM-A9, with open practice hours between classes. Classes run in English or Spanish, whichever you're more comfortable learning in.
Private DJ Lessons in Tulum
Private DJ lessons in Tulum are for people who want to move faster or work on something specific — a residency audition, a festival set, harmonic mixing. Sessions are one-to-one, scheduled around your week, and can be booked individually or as a block. Visitors often take an intensive run across two weeks.
DJ Production Course
The DJ production course takes you from mixing other people's records to finishing your own. We cover arrangement, sound design, sample selection and the practical side of releasing a track. It's designed to pair with the DJ levels rather than replace them.
How to Become a DJ in Tulum
How to become a DJ in Tulum, realistically: learn the technique, build a selection that suits this coast, record a set worth sending, and meet the people who book. The course is built around that order, and the filmed closing set exists so you have something to send. We introduce standout students to venues we already work with.
Course Levels & Pricing
Course levels and pricing follow three stages — beginner, intermediate and set building — each eight two-hour sessions with free booth time included. Private lessons and the two-week intensive are priced separately. Current pricing is sent on request because group dates and season affect it.
Our Instructors
Our instructors play beach clubs, private parties and Full Moon Sessions here every week, so what they teach comes from current bookings rather than a syllabus. Each student is assigned a main mentor for the whole level. They also sit in on your filmed closing set.
Student Results
Student results are the point: former students play weekly slots in Tulum and Playa del Carmen, and several closing sets from the academy are published on our channel. We keep the filmed sets public so you can hear the standard before you enrol. Progress is measured by what you can play, not by attendance.
Why Ephimera Is the Best DJ Academy in Tulum
Why Ephimera is the best DJ academy in Tulum comes down to a simple thing: we're a working production house first. The same team that teaches you rents the gear, produces the parties and films the videos on this coast, so you learn inside a real operation. Small groups, professional Pioneer equipment and a filmed set at the end come as standard.
