A sound checklist for a beach wedding
Wind, sand, power and the ceremony: the four problems that ruin audio at a coastal wedding.

Wind is enemy number one. On an open beach it can carry away an entire ceremony's vocals unless you use properly shielded microphones and position speakers to compensate for the prevailing direction.
The second problem is power. Many beach venues can't handle a full system plus lighting, so we plan around a silent generator and split the audio and lighting lines.
Third, the sand: every piece of gear sits on a platform or base, and cabling gets buried or covered. Fourth, the ceremony needs its own small system, independent from the dance floor, so the most important moment of the day doesn't hang on a single point of failure.
